Freight
Rail Freight — CPEC Corridor
The 1,872 km Kashgar-to-Karachi freight corridor. Sea-like economics with materially better predictability.
How it works
The CPEC rail line runs from Kashgar in Xinjiang through Islamabad and Lahore to Karachi, with annual capacity now exceeding ten million tonnes. For inland Chinese origins it removes the long domestic drayage to a coastal port and takes ocean congestion out of the equation.
What is included
- ▸1,872 km dedicated corridor, Kashgar to Karachi
- ▸Strong fit for inland China origins and Central Asian feeders
- ▸Container and bulk options
- ▸Cost sits between sea and air, closer to sea
